Signature is "TSUDA ECHIZEN (no) KAMI SUKEHIRO".
See SUK130.
It looks like a real Nihonto, but in poor polish. But be aware that it could be "gimei" (false signature), since it is a relatively important smith. But it may still be a high-quality blade anyway.

fire damage?
BTW, it occurs to me that the dark color may mean that it was in a fire.
It's hard to tell from pictures...
Fire damage is very serious - almost all the value would be gone.
