I purchased the following wakizashi 19 years ago without a certificate of authenticity as a hizen blade around 1640. I would like to verify the details provided at the time and would be grateful for your appraisal. I had hoped that, given the distinctive hamon pattern, I might find a reference to the possible smith or school and a more precise date in the books I have available. Unfortunately, however, I have had no success.

Here are a few key details about the wakizashi and photos of the blade.

CUTTING EDGE: 54.1 cm.
SORI: 1.1 cm.
MOTOHABA: 2.95 cm.
MOTOKASANE: 0.6 cm.
SAKIHABA: 2.0 cm.
SIGNATURE: MUMEI.
