Sword History: According to the sayagaki and accounts by Origami envelope, the sword was "favorite of Dewa No Kami Mizuno Tadachika (means favorite sword)". Mizuno Tadachika (水野忠周) was the fourth lord of the Shinano Matsumoto Domain (1713-1718). [Brief additional information: The Mizuno clan descended from the Taira clan. Tokugawa Ieyasu's mother came from the Mizuno clan.]
